Originally launched in July 2003, and already having several hundred users, the new version of sydneycarpool.com, put online this week, has a clean new look and includes several significant new features. The system is now separated into two categories one for drivers and one for passengers, has improved lock out functions, and offers an inexpensive partnership program for other website operators. The website was conceived and developed by Peter Harper from Bettersafe Pest and Weed Management who over last 8 years has progressively been disappointed with the lack of planning and infrastructure and management of our roads, with this in mind researched possibilities of carpooling or vanpooling across the world and developed a database matching system with the help of Ian Wijaya of Xatnam Solutions for use in the Sydney region.
