www.sydneycarpool.com Web-based Carpool Matching

Sydney Australia – December, 2003 – Creating the perfect carpool matching system. For a hassle-free, instant, and precise carpool matching website, www.sydneycarpool.com, now makes it easier than ever for commuters anywhere in Sydney to find perfect matches for their daily or weekly travel arrangements.

Sydneycarpool.com uses the commuter's address, easily available and free, to find the best matches for their trip among the other commuters in the database, based on exactly how close together they live and exactly how close together they work. The system works efficiently everywhere in Sydney.

Originally launched in July 2003, and already having several hundred users, the new version of sydneycarpool.com, put online this week, has a clean new look and includes several significant new features. The system is now separated into two categories one for drivers and one for passengers, has improved lock out functions, and offers an inexpensive partnership program for other website operators. The system also includes features to maximize the user's privacy and minimize potential abuse. The site does not include any invasive advertising.

It is free to record your trip, free to search for matches, and a membership fee is required to receive -mails from the other commuters, drivers will pay a $150 annual membership this enables the driver to be listed as available to the other commuters, and also gets you a membership card and a sydneycarpool.com bumper sticker.

The website was conceived and developed by Peter Harper from Bettersafe Pest and Weed Management who over last 8 years has progressively been disappointed with the lack of planning and infrastructure and management of our roads, with this in mind researched possibilities of carpooling or vanpooling across the world and developed a database matching system with the help of Ian Wijaya of Xatnam Solutions for use in the Sydney region.

"All those empty seats going back and forth on our roadways may be Sydney’s biggest untapped resource for improving the environment and our quality of life. ”We hope that the convenience of sydneycarpool.com will make carpooling and trip sharing more practical for everyone."

Further information is available at the website, www.sydneycarpool.com.
